Sunday, May 12, 2013 – I’ve just heard the news of Stuart’s passing and, along with so many others, am remembering his beautiful energy, wisdom and massive contribution to our lives. I so often have and still do return to his books, as one might go and speak with a big brother, for guidance and insight.
I remember some years ago, after recently being injured in a car accident, I drove 1 1/2 hours to Toronto, to listen to him speak. I actually attended a special advanced gathering, where some of us could meet him before the talk.
I noticed that everyone at this early meeting had brought things for him to sign and I felt a little silly that this hadn’t occurred to me. When he walked up to me, I told him that I hadn’t brought anything to be signed and that I just wanted to be there to let him know how much his work meant to me. Upon hearing this, he wrapped his arms around me in a big warm bear hug, gave me a big kiss the lips and said “Thank you darling!”
A warm memory that will stay with me forever.
Stuart, my heart overflows with gratitude for all you have brought to my life !!!
May bountiful blessings of love be with you always and guide your journey forever more.
Be Brave the Day – Mike Shaw
Be Brave The Day
And hold it dear
Let the sunrise cast its light
And the mist dance around your feet
Be brave the day
And ride the time
Like white horses upon the surf
Steady yourself true
For you are the visionaries
And you hold it all
Just be brave the day
And hold it dear.
December 24th, 2012: The Gentle Art of Blessing
“It is impossible to bless and judge at the same time so hold constantly, as a deep, hallowed, intoned thought that desire to bless, for truly then shall you become a Peacemaker.”
This one act, if done by all, would change our world forever. To listen to more of these absolutely beautiful thoughts by Pierre Pradervand on The Gentle Art of Blessing, visit our ‘Fabulous Links’ page.
Wherever you are, and whichever path you walk, may this indeed, be a silent and peaceful night for you and your loved ones.
December 18th, 2012: WE WANT PEACE
Five days ago, 26 people were shot dead in an elementary school in the USA. 20 of them were children between the ages of 5 and 6 years old. On that same day in China, a knife-wielding man stabbed 22 children and 1 adult outside of a primary school. Yesterday, 10 young girls were blown up by a land mine in Afghanistan and today, December 18, 2012, five women immunizing children against polio in Pakistan were shot dead. These are the ones the news covered. How many didn’t we hear about?
Emmanuel Jal’s message, WE WANT PEACE couldn’t be more relevant! Our world is desperate for Peace.
The greatest lie of all is that we are separate from each other and therefore powerless to affect change. Emmanuel Jal is a living example of the power of one to rally the many and in doing so, transform fear into power and generate peace in this world.
On January 14th, 2013, at 11:00am PST on peaceworldradio.com, I will be speaking with Emmanuel Jal, musician, author, actor and peace activist. His message is one of Peace.
If you are able to listen to us during our show time, wonderful, but if you can’t, be with us by being the message: WE WANT PEACE! Wherever you are in the world, clap it, tap it, dance it, drum it, shout it, sing it, text it, write about it, Tweet it, Facebook and You Tube it, even Flash mob it but whatever you do, and in whichever way you choose, BE PEACE!
Share with us on Facebook what you’re doing and connect with all the others around the world who are stepping up for Peace.
On this day, and every day, let the collective voice of Humanity send a message out to every person in a position of global or local power, to every person who is about to abuse, wound or kill a child, to every person who is about to harm another through thought, word or action, hear our call: WE WANT PEACE!
PLEASE, send this out to all your social media connections and to everyone on your emailing list. Ask them to forward it so that we create an energetic and global shift of consciousness to one of Peace. WE WANT PEACE!
December 13th, 2012: Nurse’s suicide following Australian DJ’s hoax
I have found myself so deeply saddened by the news that nurse Jacintha Saldanha was found hanging in the nurses quarters in a UK hospital where she worked just days after she was part of a hoax perpetrated by two Australian DJs, Michael Christian and Mel Greig. And, from what I just read in the news this morning, it seems that her family had no idea she was part of this hoax, one that was replayed everywhere.
I have been wondering what she must have been going through in the days following the hoax and before her death: the ridicule, the intense shame, embarrassment, sense of failure and the abject humiliation and loneliness she must have felt to then believe that the ONLY choice she had, was to die.
While I don’t know them personally, I cannot believe that Christian and Greig woke up that morning with the expressed intention of engaging in behaviour that would lead to someone’s death. I would imagine that, given a chance, they would give anything to go back in time and not make that phone call. So many lives have been tragically affected by this act.
We need to learn from this. Seriously, we need to learn. In their eyes, the DJ’s were just ‘playing a prank’ but that’s where it all falls apart because they were only thinking of what would be funny to them, their audience and what would work for the Network. It seems that there was absolutely no consideration, care or interest given to how their actions might affect another human being.
The insularity of separateness, with which we go about creating our lives, is what has to change. What we need to fully embrace, and the message at the heart of Peace World Radio, is that we are intricately connected to each other and that what affects one, affects All. Not only for our survival but also for our evolution as Humanity, we need to shift from living a separate, disconnected existence of ‘I’m doing what’s right for me’ to one of Inclusion, where we align our thoughts, needs, values and behaviour with what is also in the highest good of the Whole, each other. That is when we’ll have Peace and Jacintha’s death will, at the very least, have some meaning.
November 21st, 2012: Anxiety
How can you live in Peace when you’re filled with Anxiety? According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America: Anxiety affects over 40 million people in the US alone and costs more than $42 billion a year. It often has a devastating affect on people’s lives, making them feel powerless and inept in dealing with daily life. To say that we need to get a handle on this, is truly an understatement and that’s why Kathryn Tristan’s book ,”Why Worry?”, is so needed. She is a scientist and an ex-anxiety sufferer. She found a way out of the grip of Anxiety and she shares what she’s learned on the December 10th, 2012, Peace World Radio show.
November 16th, 2012: Frequency
If you missed the show I did with Penney Peirce on Frequency, visit the Library of Past Shows page, and you can access it there. Penney is a treasure trove of knowledge and the whole concept of Frequency that we discuss in the interview is going to be so much a part of our future. In a nut shell what this means is this: everything is in motion and vibrating at its own frequency (quantum physics). If you want to get something, achieve something, heal, shift or create something, all you have to do is vibrate at the frequency of your objective and it will become your reality. What a massive paradigm shift from the one we have been living in where everything is a struggle!
